Guided Visits

Private Museum Tours

Have you ever felt intimidated by visiting a museum? Is this your first trip to London and you don’t know where to start? Always getting lost while trying to find that one famous painting or artefact? …

If you find yourself nodding along to these questions, my services as an engaging guide might just be the right thing for you. London’s sprawling art galleries and museums can be daunting places to navigate, especially if you are pressed for time and don’t know what to watch out for. From informal introductory tours to in-depth explorations, I’m now offering private guided visits for individuals and small groups of up to ten people in the following museums:

Under (Re)Construction: The V&A’s famous Cast Court.

If you have any special interests (as for example, architecture, Greek mythology or Modernist sculpture) and let me know about those in advance, I can incorporate these themes into our itinerary and tailor the visit according to your preferences. Fancy exploring the spoils of the French Revolution at the Wallace Collection? Impressionist paintings at the National Gallery? The possibilities are endless … If you’d like to see what a ceramics-themed visit at the V&A would entail, please have a look at a guest blog post I wrote last year for Adventures of a London Kiwi.

Little Paris: Fontaine Wallace in front of the Wallace Collection.

From engaging to irreverent, my tours have been celebrated for their entertaining nature and my aim as a guide is to make you (re)discover the old with new eyes while having a fun time.

  1. Hi Yannick. What a fabulous idea! London has a wealth of world famous museums and galleries but they can sometimes seem daunting, as whether you’re a beginner or an experienced culture seeker where do you start to select the things that really interest and appeal to you when there is just so much to see?

I’ve really enjoyed been shown round both the V & A and the Wallace Collection by you, both as part of a group and individually on several occasions. As well as finding you amazingly knowledgeable what’s really impressed me is that you find it so easy to navigate your groups round the buildings by using back stairs, and lifts when required, you’ve been able to quickly transport us away from the busy entrances and show us some wonderful items. Your enthusiasm and your fondness for these buildings and objects is very evident throughout. But what made your tours extra special is how you personalised them, you found out what I liked and then you included some items that you knew I’d just adore seeing and made it very memorable visit.

Hope we can explore the National Gallery together soon as that would be great fun. I highly recommend your tours and I sincerely hope that over time the list of museums and galleries you offer will expand.
